Globe & Mail Milk Sharing Article

This is a link to an article about milk sharing that I was interviewed for last year. My sister pointed out that we look like we’re in bed together which is a little embarrassing. Also the quotes in the article say something quite different than what I was saying at the time – but I guess it’s all for the good cause of normalizing breastfeeding!

This was written around the time that I actually stopped nursing Kaia when I watched her. I don’t really remember when that happenned, because it happened effortlessly, even though her mom was still  nursing her and I was nursing my son. She was old enough that she was happy to wait for her mom.

I think this article makes it sounds like we were co-nursing to get away from our babies and not feel “tied down” by them.  This was not the case at all. Nursing two babies at once is not what I’d call “convenient” – although it was nice not to have to pump and deal with bottles etc. What was important to both of us was that when were away from our children, we could feel more secure, knowing they were being so well cared for.
